Location

The region of Pelion in Central Greece, is easily one of the most beautiful and unique areas in all of Greece. The dominating Mount Pelion, stands proudly above the stunning coastline beneath it, which is home to a huge number of beautiful beaches and crystal seas.

Scattered all over Mount Pelion are a variety of villages, each different in size. These picturesque villages have been able to maintain their traditional appearance throughout the years.

Probably the most famous village in Pelion is Tsagarada. It is also one of the largest, and is very popular with visitors all year round. In the summer, there are beautiful clean sandy beaches, and during the winter, there is of course, the famous ski center of Agriolefkes near to the village of Chania.

Tsagarada is located to the east of Mount Pelion, and is 54km from the port serving city of Volos. Tsagarada actually consists of four smaller towns, Agia Paraskevi, Agia Kiriaki, Agio Stefano and Agioi Taxiarhes. These four villages, which are located on a green hill on Mount Pelion, make up Tsagarada.

Popular beaches in the summer are Milopotamos and Fakistras. Walking around the area is a wonderful way to relax, and on your walks you will come across numerous spring water fountains, beautiful churches, lushious plants and nature, and of course, the famous plane tree, which is over one thousand years old, and has a diameter of 14 meters.
